From Insight to Impact

Thank you to everyone who participated in our recent event! We had a lively and engaging discussion as we presented key findings from the Newburgh Food Project survey. These insights will help shape the next phase of our work addressing food and nutrition security in Newburgh.

Our next step is to harness the energy, identifying people, potential systems, programs and policies that will best meet the needs of Newburgh residents.

Workgroups Include:

The Seasonal Urban Farm Assistant will assist operations at DPUF from sowing seeds to crop cultivation, irrigation, harvesting, washing, and distribution - as well as assisting with educational programming, volunteer orientation and leadership, and project execution.

Coming in July

In Newburgh, sharing food is one of the simplest—and most powerful—ways we can look out for our neighbors. From donating food to preserving summer’s bounty, here are some practical ways you can help build a more food-secure community in our city.

Orange County Land Trust Benefit Reception

On June 12th, NUFFI joined the Orange County Land Trust’s Benefit Reception at Cedar Lakes Estate to honor incredible women leading the way in conservation and agriculture. We were especially proud to see our own Virginia Kasinski recognized alongside Cari Watkins-Bates, Christina Chan, Liana Hoodes, Lucy Joyce, Melinda Meddaugh, Kathleen Nolan, Sharon Soons, Terri Thal, and Karen Washington.
