Downing Park Urban Farm Volunteers
Volunteers are an important part of our Farm and there are lots of ways you can help.*
Three ways to volunteer at DPUF:
- Weekly Volunteering
We have open slots for volunteers on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am-12:00pm. We are looking for volunteers who are able to come each week and help us with various farm tasks such as weeding, mulching, planting, and harvesting. In order to be the most helpful for our farm staff, we are specifically looking for people who can commit to coming every week.
- Group Volunteering
We have open slots for volunteer groups on Fridays from 9:00am-12:00pm. We are able to accommodate groups of up to 15 people. Tasks vary based on the day, but can include things like mulching, weeding, and planting.
- Step Up Saturdays
Once a month on Saturday, we will hold a volunteer day from 9:00am-12:00pm. Tasks will vary based on the season and what needs to be done, but we will often choose a task like mulching or building raised beds, where it will be helpful to have many people.
Fill out our volunteer sign-up form below and a staff member will contact you with more information.
*At this time, the farm cannot accept volunteers under the age of 14. Volunteers between the ages of 14-17 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
